Rebecca Mason is a co-founder of Safe Harbor Counseling of Missouri and serves as the Practice Administrator, helping ensure the practice runs with care, steadiness, and compassion.
Her path to this role was shaped by profound resilience. After losing everything in a fire, navigating job loss following complications from a surprise pregnancy, and caring for both a newborn and her older disabled child, Rebecca later experienced an eye stroke that took the central vision in her right eye. With significant vision loss in her left eye as well, she was declared legally blind.
What could have become an ending instead became part of a new beginning.
When Michael began building the vision for Safe Harbor Counseling, Rebecca became an essential part of bringing that vision to life.
Today, she is often the first voice you may hear when you reach out to the practice. Rebecca supports Safe Harbor through scheduling, substitute scheduling, billing, coding, contracting, waitlist communication, grant writing, editing, bookkeeping, and many of the behind-the-scenes details that help the practice run smoothly.
Her work helps ensure that your first experience with Safe Harbor feels warm, organized, and welcoming.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her cats Haru and Tony and her ball python Lucille. She also enjoys video games, collecting stones and carvings, aromatherapy, caring for houseplants, growing fruits and vegetables indoors, writing and editing manuscripts, making art, and researching whatever captures her curiosity.
Rebecca’s presence reflects one of Safe Harbor’s deepest values: that resilience, purpose, and meaningful contribution can grow even after life changes in unexpected ways.
